Caellah’s Foundation is a not-for-profit organization based in Eastern North Carolina that provides assistance to families of medically complex children (for a definition of a medically complex child, click here).  This assistance will be provided inside and outside the hospital with the purpose of helping these families to understand their child’s situation and to cope with the pressures that come with having a medically complex child.  The objective is to begin this support at the University of North Carolina Children’s Hospital and then to grow to provide assistance at other children’s hospitals.  The existence of the Foundation comes from the experiences of the parents of Caellah Ireland Allison, a medically complex child and the one for whom this Foundation is named.

Our primary objective is to keep families together and to better the mental illness rate within complex medical families.
